We Met

A chance encounter at a mutual friend's birthday party in Brooklyn. Michael spilled his drink, Sarah laughed, and the rest is history.

March 2021

First Adventure

Our first big trip together—a week exploring the mountains of West Virginia. We fell in love with each other and the wild landscape.

December 2023

The Proposal

Michael proposed at sunrise on Spruce Knob, the highest point in West Virginia. She said yes before he finished asking.

June 2025

The Wedding

What should I wear?

Semi-formal attire. The ceremony is outdoors on a paved overlook, so comfortable shoes are recommended. June evenings can be cool in the mountains—bring a layer!

Can I bring a plus one?

Due to venue capacity, we can only accommodate guests named on your invitation. Please reach out if you have questions.

Are kids welcome?

We love your little ones! Children are welcome at all events. We'll have a kids' corner at the reception.

Where should I stay?

We have a room block at Blackwater Falls Lodge with a special rate. Use code 'SARAH&MICHAEL' when booking. There are also cabins and B&Bs nearby.

What's the weather like?

June in the mountains averages 70°F during the day and 50°F at night. Rain is possible, so pack accordingly!

Is there cell service?

Service is limited in the park. The lodge has WiFi. Embrace the chance to unplug!
